Ready Or Not

5ED876CA-7D20-47A0-A6CB-74FC518E940DGrace (Samara Weaving) is marrying into the incredibly rich Le Domas family and she is soon to find out how eccentric they are too. On her wedding night she is told that all new family members must play a game and when she draws “Hide and Seek” what she doesn’t realise is that the loser has to die.

Ready or Not is a simply brilliant comedy thriller. It briskly sets up the rules of the game so that we can quickly get into the action. And during its brisk 95 minute running time it brings lots of humour and fun along with tension and gore.

Weaving gives a star making performance as the sassy and resourceful bride who desperately wanted a permanent family after growing up in foster homes. She has the star wattage of her fellow antipodean actress Margot Robbie and will hopefully be on our screens more often.

Elsewhere the other family members all have memorable characters and moments. The one to stand out the most is coked up sister Emilie played by Melanie Scrofano who is hilariously frantic whilst seeking.

All of this is wrapped up in a statement about how far the rich will go to stay rich and how everyone’s family is weird to other people.

Wholeheartedly recommended.
